The Band Of Endless Noise “Riders on the Bikes”

The Band of Endless Noise, hailing from Racibórz, Poland, burst onto the music scene in 2001 with their self-titled debut album. Released by the legendary post-punk label Antena Krzyku and distributed in the USA by Revolver, the album featured collaborations with Anna Nacher and Marek Styczyński of The Magic Carpathians/Atman. The lineup included Tomasz Brzozowski (bass), Sylwester Koral (drums), Adam Sanocki (guitar), and Andrzej Widota (vocals, guitar, electronics), all of whom had been involved in other local bands such as Military Fly, Blaze, and Stokrotki Wietnamu.
Their debut album was well-received, with the song “Making It All Right” topping the charts on Radiostacja and receiving airplay on Polish Radio Three. The American distributor Midheaven/Revolver, known for handling releases from major indie artists like Sonic Youth, also picked up the album. The band’s music reached European audiences through DeKonkurrent, with records appearing in music stores in New York and Amsterdam.
After their debut, The Band of Endless Noise embarked on tours across Poland and Europe, playing at notable venues like Mózg in Bydgoszcz, Jazzgot and Centralny Dom Kultury in Warsaw, and Forum Fabricum in Łódź. Their track “We, Wearing The Sunglasses” was featured on the *Cutting Edge Music From Eastern Europe* compilation by Tamizdat, which included artists such as Iva Bittová and Vera Bila. In 2002, legendary BBC Radio One presenter John Peel aired “We, Wearing The Sunglasses” on his show, a rare honor for Polish bands.
In 2005, they released their second album, “Riders On The Bikes”, through Post_Post/Rockers Publishing, produced by Marcin Dymiter of Mapa. The album received critical acclaim, with Serpent, a leading Polish online independent distributor, listing it in their top 10 records of the year. The album earned 4.5 stars in the Polish edition of Metal Hammer. That same year, The Band of Endless Noise toured France with Kristen as part of the Polish Year in France.
In 2008, the band performed at Off Festival, Poland’s largest alternative music festival, featuring Anna Nacher and Marek Styczyński. Andrzej Widota later collaborated with The Magic Carpathians, resulting in two releases: *Gharana* on Reverb Worship and “Acusmatic Psychogeography” on World Flag. In 2010, they released the EP *The Blue Nun Theme* and performed live soundtracks for the silent film “Nanook of the North” at several venues, including The Silent Film Festival in Cracow.
The band’s resurgence in the live music scene was spurred by the reissue of their first two albums. In 2018, Gusstaff Records re-released their debut album on yellow vinyl, which Bartek Chaciński of *Polityka* and *Polifonia* listed among his top 21 favorite records of the year, calling it a “Polish post-rock classic.” In July 2021, they released a limited edition of “Riders On The Bikes” on vinyl, originally issued in 2005 by Post_Post. Łukasz Iwasiński of “Fluid” praised the album, suggesting that Racibórz could be seen as a metropolis akin to London or New York due to the band’s achievements.

The Band of Endless Noise continues to captivate audiences with their distinctive blend of electronic, post-rock, and psychedelic sounds, maintaining a significant presence in the Polish and international alternative music scenes.
