Janusz Zdunek (born July 12, 1970, in Szczytno) is a Polish trumpeter and composer known for his versatility in genres such as jazz, rock, and yass. He began his musical career in Bydgoszcz in the early 1990s, collaborating with musicians from the Trytony club scene. In 1996, he formed the experimental group Trio Syfon, later expanded to 4 Syfon and 5 Syfon, releasing several albums, including “Jestem w kinie” and “New Tango”.
Since 1997, Zdunek has been a member of the legendary Polish rock band Kult, contributing to numerous albums and live performances. He has also worked with other notable bands, including Buldog, Strachy na Lachy, and Happysad. His solo projects, such as the album “Numery” (2017), showcase his talent for blending minimalist and experimental sounds.
Zdunek’s creative portfolio extends beyond music; he has composed for films and theater productions, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and innovative artist.
