Igor Pudło, known as Igor Boxx, is one of the most distinctive artists in Polish electronic music. Born and raised in Wrocław, he draws constant inspiration from the city’s atmosphere and history. He first gained recognition in the 1990s as part of Skalpel, a duo formed with Marcin Cichy. Their music combined old jazz records, hip-hop, and sampling, creating a warm, nostalgic sound. In 2003, Skalpel signed with the British label Ninja Tune, releasing two acclaimed albums that brought international attention and positioned them among Poland’s most important electronic acts.
In 2010, Pudło launched his solo career as Igor Boxx. His debut album, Breslau, was a dark, concept-driven work inspired by the destruction of Wrocław during World War II. It was praised in Poland and abroad for its bold and emotional storytelling through sound. As a DJ and live performer, Igor Boxx has played at festivals worldwide, blending jazz, electronica, hip-hop, and experimental music into unique journeys.
Skalpel later reunited, releasing Transit in 2014 and Highlight in 2020, proving their lasting creativity. Today, Igor Pudło continues to shape Polish electronic music with originality, turning memory and place into immersive sonic landscapes.
