Golden Life is a Polish music band founded in Gdańsk in 1988. The band traverses various styles, from rock, pop, and rap to country. Two of the group’s songs, “Wszystko to co mam” and “24.11.94” (a single dedicated to the victims of the fire at the Gdańsk Shipyard on November 24, 1994), reached the top spot on the Third Program Hit List. The band is considered part of the Gdańsk Alternative Scene.
A legendary band, operating successfully for 35 years in Poland and beyond its borders. Their debut album from 1991 was spectacular and made a lot of noise. The eclectic music of Golden Life appealed to both the audience and journalists.
The band was hailed as the band of the year, and the album “Midnight Flowers” was the album of the year.
This marked the beginning of the journey to the top for the band, which would soon become one of the most important in the Polish rock scene. They have 11 studio albums and have played around 2000 concerts across the USA.
On August 26, 2004, in a car accident near Gniew (Pomeranian Voivodeship), Maciej Próchnicki, the 43-year-old drummer of the Tri-City band Golden Life, was killed. The musician was returning from vacation in Zakopane and was rushing to the band’s rehearsal in Gdańsk.
